Denise's energy is really low now.  She managed to pull herself up by her boot straps and go out for 2 short walks.  The walks enhance the bodily functions and minimze some of the bowel and bladder cramping.  Chemo has altered how foods taste which is making it hard to find foods that are tasty.  Even water doesn't taste good.  She's also having trouble sleeping at night.

If anyone has any food ideas or ways to fall asleep, send a comment.

How about hummus (for protein) and pita chips, or rice cooked in veggie stock (for flavor)? Hope this week is a better week for you, Denise.

Hi Denise, I don't have any suggestions but just wanted you know I am sending big hugs your way. My heart hurts by hearing how much pain you are in but am happy to know you have that handsome Oliver by your side at all times and a loving family taking care of your needs. Keep your chin up kid and know you have so many of us out here that love you and are sending our positive energies your way to feel better soon.

For sleep: it might seem counterintuitive, but I listen to things on my iPod that have nothing to do with relaxation/meditation and it knocks me out. I download free podcasts (about Roman History, Stuff You Should Know, This American Life, RadioLab) and also audiobooks and I think that my body has just started associating the voices of these folks with bedtime.

Thinking of you and hoping help for sleep and eating come your way soon.

Hi Denise. Sorry to hear you are feeling so punk.
We say a prayer for you every night before bed. You might ask your mom to do a Google search on your symptoms to see what turns up.
Next week will be better. Love you.

Denise, ask your mom if she knows Reiki...or if you have a Reiki healing circle...it works wonders!

I'm sending healing thoughts of love and light, and hugs to Oliver.
